We have been practising our halving skills in practical ways! We especially enjoyed using the sandwich station. We made a jam sandwich in a pair and cut it in half, discussing if we thought the halves were equal and fair and checking them. If the halves weren't equal we found ways to solve the problem independently!

We have had some excellent Book of Brilliance activities handed in for the naming and using 2D shapes challenge. Mr Barson and I were taken aback at the efforts that have been put into the children’s little projects, 3D models made of sticks, pictures made from fuzzy felts and beautiful shape pictures to name a few!

This week we have been working on our measurement skills. We have been ordering items by size, comparing objects to certain lengths and measuring using non-standard units of measurements.
To raise money for Children in Need, we baked 'spotty' cookies to sell at the end of the school day. We were able to compare and order ingredients by weight whilst we did this. The children really enjoyed developing their Freddie Finance and Tim and Tom Teamwork skills to create their spotty cookies.
