National Curriculum requirements for end of Key Stage 2 swimming and water safety:

Children need to:

  • swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes effectively
  • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

 

Out of 12 Year 6 children, 10 were competently able to achieve the National Curriculum requirements.  This equates to 84%.
